Ashlee & Travis Wedding

Even though both the Shulers and the Taylors were from Bastrop and were affected by the Central Texas fires, this long awaited wedding happened at Villa St. Clair on September 10th.   And it was a beautiful wedding.  Most of the families I have had the pleasure to work with have been wonderful, and these families were no exception.  You could tell this young couple was off to a great start with all the love and support of their respective families.

When I first met this couple a year ago, I knew they were special.  I was excited when they selected me to be the photographer for their wedding and Ashlee’s bridal session.  I did have to finally confess to Ashlee who was a track scholar at Angelo State University that my daughter (also named ASHLEE!) was a 4 year volleyball scholar at rival Abilene Christian University.  Fortunately, neither Ashlee held it against me!

This was my first time to shoot at Villa St Clair and it is a beautiful facility with excellent staff.  Things did run a shade late on the ceremony, so we completed the group shots and started the reception.  Later we snuck Ashlee and Travis out for bride and groom shots.  It was totally dark by then, but using the front porch area and my trusty video light for shooting out back, we captured beautiful images.  You will also see some of the very wide panorama shots below.  These are captured as a series of shots and stiched together in Photoshop.  I use this technique a lot and I prefer it to a “fisheye lens” which results in a lot of distortion.
