Deauna and Zachary Wedding

Welcome to our new blog.  We loved our old blog, but we are now using a WordPress template from ProPhoto which is incredible!  We only have this one post so far, but we will making many more posts over the next week or two – so come back and take a look.

This beautiful wedding took place at Mediterranean Villa in Arlington, Texas.   My good friend (and first Bride I ever shot), Kandi Cook of KR Kreations and Events was the co-ordinator with help from her husband Ray and Victor.  They did an incredible job including a bridal shower we covered the day before with a theme of “metamorphosis” for all the changes that have gone on in Deauna’s life.

I started with Zachary and the groomsmen shooting at the nearby Sheraton while Addison covered Deauna’s preparations.  We then moved to Medditerranean Villa for the beautiful ceremony and reception.  During the ceremony, Zachary not only said his vows to Deauna, but to his son as well.  This was particularly special as my son Michael and Zach’s son become friends during our engagement shoot.

The reception as you can see from the images was incredibly beautiful.  There were 4 cakes, 3 of them grooms cake’s featuring the Dallas Cowboys.  To say Zachary is a Cowboys fan is a huge understatement (check out the engagement picture we did of Zachary proposing to Deauna on the big screen at the new Cowboy’s Stadium).  The reception was wonderful highlighted by a bride an groom “20 questions” game where Deauna and Zachary sit back to back each with a groom and bride doll and hold up the doll that best matches the question such as “who is the best dresser?”   The late night dancing included a New Orleans style march around the reception room complete with umbrellas.

Laura and Mitchell Engagement

Wow!  What a fun engagement shoot.  I was in Fort Worth attending the Texas School of Photography.  This was my third year and the school is OUTSTANDING.  This year I managed to get into Hanson Fongs lighting and posing class – it books up about 60 seconds after they open up online registration.  Anyway, I have known Laura for more than 15 years and was honored when she chose me to be her photographer.  She graduated from Anderson High School in Austin, went to TCU where my oldest son went and then took a job running JJ Henry (professional golfer) family and charitable foundation in Dallas.  This was my first time meeting Mitchell, but in 5 minutes, it felt like we had known each other for years.

We started off at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens and then moved  over to the Stockyards with a change of clothes.  The shoot went great.  We have over 200 beautiful images and are in the process of creating an Engagement Album.  Come back to see Laura’s bridal shoot and wedding images.  The wedding is December 11th and reception will be at one of my favorites, the Texas Union Ballroom on the UT Campus in Austin.
