Addison, with Lauren assisting, shot this beautiful wedding in Charleston, South Carolina for Patrick Motola Photography. I shot Gabriel’s sisters wedding (Laura Samudio) a couple of years ago and just fell in love with the Samudio family. Gabriel and Laura’s mother, Rose, asked me to shoot Stephanie and Gabriel’s wedding, but unfortunately, I was booked for that date. I do offer my client’s the opportunity to still book a Patrick Motola photography wedding with Addison as the primary shooter. Addison is one of the very few photographers I would trust to shoot a wedding for me. Not only does she have extraordinary photography skills, but she is great with people (and kids in particular). So the McCarthy’s and Samudio’s agreed to book Patrick Motola Photography with Addison doing the shooting.
So Addison and Lauren headed off to Charleston on a Thursday, got the lay of the land there along with some shots of the rehearsal and then spent a long, wonderful Saturday with Stephanie, Gabriel, the bridal party and of course the McCarthy and Samudio families. Photography took a high priority with Stephanie and Gabriel and you can see that in the time they took to go out with the bridal party after the ceremony to shoot amongst the various backdrops of Charleston. Gabriel is an Army Ranger, so the wedding included full military dress and tradition. Wow, was I jealous! My father served 26 years in Special Forces and I would love to shoot a military dress wedding.
The final touch after having Addison and Lauren capture these beautiful images is Patrick Motola Photography postprocessing. We retouch every image and then I select about 50, make copies of them, and apply creative fine art effects ranging from selective color to various forms of black and white to antique textures. The result is the capture of an incredible day that Stephanie and Gabriel can cherish for a lifetime.
